SALT CATHEDRAL TOUR
The Salt Cathedral Tour takes us north of Bogotá, in the department of Cundinamarca, where the Salt Cathedral is located. A suggestive structure built 2,652 meters above sea level and about 180 meters deep in a salt mine.
It is considered the most important architectural and artistic achievement in Colombia that attracts a large number of visitors from all over the world, religious and not, at any time of the year. It is an environment with a deep religious sense where you can find a variety of marble and salt statues.
After going through all the stations of the Via Crucis in the tunnels dug into the rock, we arrived at the cathedral where the miners had built a small chapel and they would never imagine that it would become what it represents today, this wonderful and unusual work of art.
At the end of the visit to the Salt Cathedral Tour, we continue with the visit of the small town of Zipaquirá where you can buy crafts and have lunch in one of the typical restaurants of the region before returning to Bogotá.
